The seminar focuses on the accounting practices applied by the IFRSs in the upstream oil and gas industry with emphasis on the accounting methods for exploration & evaluation activities, developing and production phases, reserve reporting and finally decommissioning with a special section dedicated to Lebanese tax laws related to the Oil and Gas industry.

  • Seminar Objectives

    This seminar provides a detailed review of the accounting practices permitted by IFRS 6 within the exploration and evaluation phases and considers how the other IFRSs are applied in the development, production and decommissioning phases. The seminar will familiarize the participants with the accounting requirements from the pre-exploration to the production and decommissioning phases, exploring acceptable reporting standards common to this industry with a special section dedicated to Lebanese tax laws related to the Oil and Gas industry.

    • Reporting of reserves;

  • Target Audience

    This seminar is ideal for individuals with financial responsibilities in the oil and gas industry or accountants operating in this industry that will be adopting IFRS. Participants should either have basic understanding of IFRS accounting principles or some experience in the oil and gas industry. No other advance preparation is required for this course.
